PHP 6.0 will be PHP 7

php-7

Germany’s excellent PHP Magazin just posted interesting news: The next major version of PHP will be PHP 7, the development team has clearly voted against PHP 6. Main reason is probably (we don’t know the exact thoughts of every voter) that the term “PHP 6” has been used (and misused) so often in the last ten years that developers might be irritated by that. A really weird reason, but just look on all the books that have been written on PHP 6, a version that never existed (!!!). This screenshot is just from today. Insane!
